Edit and delete items using the Edit form. Depending on the item type, you can also copy items.

Select an item in the main list, and then click Edit form on the main list toolbar to display the edit form (see Database Window Features).

The edit and delete functionality depends on your system settings.

You can continue browsing items on the main list while the edit form is open. Selecting a new item on the main list refreshes the edit form.

The properties available on an edit form depend on the item type you select. Properties that display in gray are read-only. The edit form for a part is shown below.

Append

Creates a copy of the item. This is useful if you need a new order or plate with similar attributes as an existing order or plate. This command is available only for orders and plates.

Remove

Deletes the item from the database.

End Edit

Saves the changes you made to the edit form.

Cancel Edit

Discards the changes you made to the edit form.

To access the edit form:

1. Click a main list tab at the bottom of the Database window (see Database Window Features).

2. Select an item from the main list.

3. Click Edit form to open the edit form for the selected item type.

To edit item attributes:

1. Click the property on the edit form.

2. Enter a new value in the text box.

   Depending on the property type, additional tools might be available. A drop-down arrow beside a property indicates that one of the following tools is available:

   • Calculator

   • Calendar

   • List of available field values (for example, a list of rows that are already used, or a list of available qualities)

3. Click End Edit when you finish making changes.

To delete an item:

Click Remove to delete an item.

You must delete items in a certain order. Before deleting an order, you need to delete all nestings that contain the order. You must delete all orders that contain a part before deleting that part.

To copy an order or a plate:

1. Select an order or a part.

2. Click Append .

   The software creates a copy of the item. For orders, you need to change the order number or the row before saving the copy. For parts, you need to change the product number before saving the copy.

3. Make any changes necessary to the available properties.

4. Click End Edit to save the copy.
