Choosing Delete (–) in Smart Production Order Input for an order item triggers the following actions:

  • Un-nested part: Part is deleted from the system.

  • Nested but not cut part: A warning is shown to the user about the connection to the nesting. The order item’s On Hold status is changed to Delete and the nesting’s On Hold status to Halted.

  • Nestings having parts in the On Hold status of Delete cannot be started in Smart Production Workshop because the nesting is set to status Halted. The picking list can be created in Smart Production Work Queue, and the user is notified of the On Hold status. If nesting is to be cut without removing deleted parts, the part’s On Hold status should be set to Reject and the nesting’s On Hold status should be removed. In this case, the part will be rejected after cutting.

You have the following options:

  • You can remove the status Halted from the nesting and Delete, allowing manufacturing of the nesting and parts.

  • You can delete the nesting that will trigger the order items with On Hold status Delete to be deleted automatically from the system.

  • You can change the nesting and remove parts from the nesting that were set to have On Hold status Delete, that triggers the order items with On Hold status Delete to be deleted automatically from the system.

  • Cut part: If nesting is cut and part is created, a warning will be shown that part already exists and it cannot be deleted (Instead if part is wanted to be rejected On Hold status Rejected should be used).

Manually setting On Hold status Delete:

  • Un-nested part - Part cannot be nested. If a part is under nesting when the status is set, Smart Production Cutting and Profile will give warning of the status when the nesting is saved. If the part is not really needed, instead of setting On Hold status Delete, deleting the part is the preferred method.

  • Nested but part not cut - Nesting will be set automatically to On Hold status Halted. If all parts in nesting are under On Hold status Delete, nesting and parts will be removed automatically. If the nestings include parts in the status Delete, it cannot be started in Workshop.

  • Cut part - If nesting is cut and the part is created, a warning will be shown that the part already exists and it cannot be deleted. Alternatively, if part is to be rejected, the On Hold status Rejected should be used.
