When parts and assemblies are imported into Smart Production Change Management from the design system, the Ship Import interface compares the imported parts and the possible corresponding existing parts in the Smart Production system.
The following are the three scenarios where changes occur:

New parts and assemblies (if part is not in Smart Production)

Changed part and assemblies (a new version of part, old version exists in Smart Production)

Deleted part (a part has been deleted in design from the assembly, old version exists in Smart Production)
When the Smart Production Change Management feature is activated, the system identifies the changes and prevents further actions from occurring in production, for those parts or assemblies that are going to be changed or deleted.
