Whenever changes made in the Smart P&ID database have an impact on metadata, you must refresh the metadata so that it is updated in Smart P&ID Web API.
The POST method is used for refreshing metadata.
The following table lists the available requests and their functions.

Run this request after you have made extensive custom data changes to one or more plants in the site. |
Refreshes the common and plant metadata for all the plants in the site at the database level. |
Run this request only if your changes are likely to have a major impact on the common metadata. |
Refresh Plant |
Run this request after you have made minor data changes in a plant, such as adding a new custom property for an item type. |
Refreshes the common metadata from the cache (on the IIS server) and refreshes the plant metadata from the database for the specified plant. |
The cache is loaded from the database the very first time the application is opened after it is installed. In subsequent sessions, the data in the application is loaded from the cache. |
Refresh Projects |
Run this request after adding or deleting one or more projects in a plant or after changing the project's PBS. |
Refreshes the metadata of all the projects in the plant. |
Where relevant, projects are also refreshed whenever the Refresh Site or Refresh Plant requests are run. |
Add Plant |
Run this request after adding a new plant in the site. |
Adds the plant metadata for the new plant. |

Run this request after deleting a plant from the site. |
Removes the metadata for the deleted plant. |
