This command reapplies the current template settings to the selected drawings and cancels any changes made directly in the drawings such as moving or deleting a SmartFrame or a logo that originates from the template. After running this command, the selected drawings are left in a recreate state and the Update Drawings Dialog Box box opens to allow you to recreate the drawings.

Intergraph recommends that you backup your work or create a version of your work prior to using this command.

Running this command skips drawings that are already in a recreate state. Details appear in the smartpid.log file. You must first recreate these drawings before refreshing the template.

The following examples represent situations where it is recommended to run this command:

  • When corrupted template objects or new objects appear in drawings, especially after upgrading the Smart P&ID plant and then recreating the drawing.

  • When you change a drawing template and you want the changes to be implemented in existing drawings associated with that template.

  • If a logo or picture that comes from the template became corrupted or was deleted by mistake.

  • If a Smart Frame was moved unintentionally and you want to restore its original position in the drawing.
