Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
2020 (10.0)

In the following description of how the copy procedure works the project that has been entered in the field 'Copy from project' will be referenced as origin project. The project the user is logged in will be called target project.

  1. It depends on the setting of the radio group the data of which disciplines will be copied. If you select 'Login Discipline' only data of the discipline you are currently logged in will be copied from the origin project to the target project. If you select 'Discipline' data from one special discipline of the origin project will be copied to one special discipline of the target project. In this case values for the fields on the right-hand side ('From Discipline' and 'To Discipline') are required. If you select 'All Disciplines' data of all those disciplines that have been assigned to both the origin and the target project will be copied.

  2. Data will only be created if no records can be found in the target project. This decision is made table by table which means that if, for example, verifications have already been defined in the target project, but no node types and you checked both check boxes no verifications will be copied from the origin project. But the node types will be taken over. Additionally, the setting of the radio group with respect to the disciplines is considered. If you want to copy data only of the login discipline or from one special discipline to another special discipline records may exist for other disciplines. If, on the other hand, you have decided for copying of data of all disciplines no record at all may exist in the target project.

  3. Only setup data for which the check box has been checked will be considered during the copy process.

  4. Project defaults are not copied by the procedure. You should check whether the values are set correctly. For example, you might like to copy the verifications from project A but the node types from project B. Then you use the 'Start' button twice: Once with project A and checking the check box for verifications, once with project B and checking the check box for node types.

After the copy process has terminated a message appears and after confirmation of this message, the Show Log File is opened. Here you can see the name and the contents of the log file of the copy process. Depending on the message level that you have set in User Preferences page, detailed information is written into this log file. This allows you to see if the result of the copy process is like what you expected or if perhaps no data were copied because data are already present in some of the involved tables.

To see all possible information, you should set the message level to a value of 25 at least (or higher). Also, If you need to take another look at this log file after you have closed page A.60.72 you can do this only via the operating system. Futhermore, the name of the log file starts with CBS_ followed by a sequential number. The file extension is .log. The file can be found in the directory defined by DBA setting LOG_FILE_DEST.
