If you wish to administer assembly explosion and site activities on BOM idents or positions, then defining BOM Rules are necessary. BOM Rules can be divided into the following groups:

  • Module explosion for demand assessment Requisition

  • Module explosion for bills of materials BOM_Copy (physical copying)

  • Module explosion for assembly bill of materials Construction

  • Site Activities for assembly report Site Activity

It is also necessary to allocate a category must to the rule group. The categories are as follows:

  • Requisition

  • BOM_Copy

  • Construction

  • Site Activity

You can define any number of rules within the rule groups. A rule is defined by a name and a language-specific description. A Where condition must be allocated to rules with the Requisition, BOM_Copy, and Constructions categories. The Where condition for Site Activity is allocated only in the Activities block in the Rules and Activities page.

If a rule is in the Site Activities rule group, the relevant construction site activities like welding, piping, painting, insulation etc. must be defined. Property values and/or logic rules can be given in the where condition.
