DBMS Jobs page lets you define jobs that are executed automatically at regular intervals. For example, you can set up a job that runs at 9:00 AM daily and checks whether a supplier has returned a bid. You can also:

  • start/execute a job once in addition to the regular schedule by clicking the Execute Now button without effecting the existing jobs.

  • limit the execution of a job. For example, hourly but only between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

  • restrict execution of jobs on non-working days based on the project calendar.

Create DBMS Jobs

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > Global Setup > DBMS Jobs.

  2. Click Create New Job.

  3. Type the DBMS job code and add a comment.

  4. Select an interval for execution of the job from the Interval list.

  5. Select a start date for the job.

  6. Type a SQL query in Executed Statement cell to execute when the DBMS job is run.

  7. Click Create.

View or edit a DBMS job details

  1. From the DBMS Jobs page, select a job.

  2. Type the changes to the SQL query in the Executed Statement cell in the Parameters section.

  3. Select Broken in the Parameters section to specify that the DBMS job/SQL query is broken and that the automatic job execution is disabled.

  4. To run the DBMS job, click Run Now.

  5. To to set up a new Oracle job process, click Install.

  6. To view the log file associated with the DBMS job, click the file name in the Log Files block.
