BOM datasets can be used to store the current BOM data, for example, to keep the BOM data for any of the list statuses with the same issue status.

On the Home page, click Bill of Materials > BOM Compare.

In the Datasets tab, click New Dataset.

In the Job Definition section, type a code in the Job Code box, and add descriptions in the Short Description and Description boxes.

In the Options section, do the following:

Select the Work Package from the list.

Optionally, select the Best Quantity check box to use the best quantity logic.

Optionally, select the Issue Status and the List Status from the list.

In the Users section, do the following:

Select the user who issued the BOM dataset from the Issued By list.

Select the date when the BOM dataset was issued from the date picker in the Issued On box.

Select the user who accepted the BOM dataset from the Accepted By list.

Select the date when the BOM dataset was accepted from the date picker in the Accepted On box.

To indicate that the BOM data is voided, select the user who voided the BOM dataset from the Voided By list.

Select the date when the BOM dataset was voided from the date picker in the Voided On box.

Select the user who removed the BOM dataset from the Removed By list.

Select the date when the BOM dataset was removed from the date picker in the Removed On box.

Click Create Dataset to create the dataset.
If you do not want to create a dataset and only save it, click Save.

On completion of the job:

The Finished status is displayed in the Status cell in the Job Definition section.

The Job Execution Statistics section shows the complete job information.

If positions are inserted as part of the completed job, the Create Dataset button is disabled while the Drop Dataset button is enabled.

On clicking Drop Dataset, the inserted positions are removed.

In case, no positions or nodes are inserted, the Drop Dataset button is disabled while the Create Dataset button is enabled.
