This project default specifies whether the approval of an Inspection Release Certificate (IRC) is required.

Depending on the project default setting, data can be changed at any point in time and by every user on the Expediting > Inspection and Shipping Releases page.

  • Module(s) affected by this setting: Expediting > Inspection and Shipping Releases.

  • List of Values: N (default), T, and Y.

    • If set to N, the data can be changed at any time by any user. An approval of the IRC is not required to continue the workflow, that is, to place an item shipment on a release note.

    • If set to Y, only the users that are assigned to the current agreement as the inspector can create and modify the IRCs if the Ready for Approval indicator is not set.

Once the IRC is marked as ready for approval, changes can no longer be applied to the IRC. In the next step, the IRC has to be approved by a user with the IRC APPROVAL privilege.

After the IRC is approved, only users that are assigned to the current agreement as the expediter can modify the IRC. Moreover, the item shipments of an approved IRC can then be placed on a release note.

    • If set to T, process is same as Y. Additionally, on the IRC approval, emails are sent to the project traffic coordinators to notify them, that they can create release notes.
