Work package allows you to define specific where conditions for the ident, list position, and BOM nodes selection. Later, the work packages determine the material which are required to perform construction tasks. Work packages must be predefined before a forecast/reservation run can be performed.

Why do I create a parameter in a work package?

Work packages consist of different idents. Parameters in a work package further help in filtering the idents.

Create a work package

  1. On the Home page, click Site > Setup > Work Packages.

  2. Click Add Row.

  3. Type the work package name in the Work Package cell.

  4. Enter the ROS Date and End Date.

ROS Date and End Date specify the start day and end day of the work package.

  5. Type Short Description and Description of the work package.

  6. Select the appropriate where conditions required for the work package. The available where conditions are listed in the table below:

Where conditions

Description

Material Where Condition

With this where condition, you can limit the idents (material) to be selected from the BOM by the forecast/reservation run.

BOM Where Condition

With this where condition, you can limit the WBS nodes and BOM list positions to be selected from the BOM by the forecast/reservation run.

Mandatory Material Where Condition

With this where condition, you can define a set of specific material (mandatory list positions; LP=list positions) which is necessary for starting the installation. For example, pipes are essential for the installation of a pipeline. This where condition is used by the forecast/reservation run shortage option.

CIP (BOM) Where Condition

This optional where condition is used by the forecast/reservation run for the shortage option ‘2-Pass CIP’.

CIP (Materials) Where Condition

This optional where condition is used by the forecast/reservation run for the shortage option ‘2-Pass CIP’.

  1. Select a Priority Type from the list for the work package.

Priority Type column are combination of constant data coming from the database such as WEIGHT(CIP) and INSTALL_PAY_ITEM(CIP). Since the data comes from the database, it cannot be translated.

  2. Select a Property name from the list.

  3. Select Yes from the Locked List, if the work package should be locked. Otherwise, select No.

If you lock a work package, assigned where conditions and BOM paths cannot be changed.

  4. Click Save.

Create parameters to the work package

  1. Select a work package, and click Parameters.

  2. Click Add Row.

  3. Select a parameter from the Parameter list.

  4. Enter the parameter value in the Value cell and Save.

Assign nodes to the work package
