Users

You can create and maintain users and assign passwords and define privileges using the Users page. To understand this page, you need to know the following:

Column

Description

Users

Identifier for a unique user. Click the hyperlink to see and maintain the messages un-subscribed by the user

Last Name

Employee's last name.

First Name

Employee's first name.

Login Options

The options available for logging in. These three options are available:

  • NATIVE

  • SSO

  • BOTH

Email

Electronic mail address for this user.

Irrespective of the sign in option, it is advised to assign a unique email ID to each user.

Telephone

Employee's telephone number

Fax

Employee's fax number

Company

The name of the company

Department

Employee's department

Managed By

Employee's superior officer

Notify on Login

For use with CIPs only, for e.g. to allow to include or exclude certain users by using this field

Global Access

Indicator whether a user has access to all product groups and projects for all disciplines

Password Change Interval

Number of days between password changes

Password History Size

Number of passwords stored in history

Complex Passwords

Shows if complex password rule is enforced or not

Failed Logins

Number of failed login attempts made

Locked

Shows if account is locked. Available options are Yes and No.

Password via Email

Shows if a newly generated password can be sent to a user via email if they have forgotten his password and have entered a wrong password three times.

OS User

Shows the OS user name

Approval Amount

The maximum amount that a user can approve.

Currency

Currency of specified maximum amount allowed for approvals

Created Date

Date of the user creation.

Activated Date

Date the user was activated

Keystrokes

If working with ISL, the box can contain the name of a single ISL project, which points to an ordered list of accessible keystrokes.

If working with SPLM, the box can contain a comma-separated list of SPLM servers, which may be contacted to get licenses.

Log Level Message

User dependent log message level. The higher the number (0-99), the more messages are added to the table that logs the license related actions. 0 is reserved for most important messages. If the field is empty, no log entries are being produced.

Authentication User

Specifies the registered user name in the authorization servers such as OKTA or SAM. The user name must be unique.

This button allows you to create a new user

Change Password

This button allows you to change the password

Delete User

This button allows you to delete a user

  • A normal user (role is not assigned to SUPER_USER_ROLE DBA Setting, without VIEW ALL USERS privilege) can only view and edit his own user data.

  • A privileged user (role is not assigned to SUPER_USER_ROLE DBA Setting, with VIEW ALL USERS privilege) can view all user’s data, but only edit his own user data.

  • A super user (role is assigned to SUPER_USER_ROLE DBA Setting) can view and edit all user’s data.

  • Having the LOCK_UNLOCK_USER privilege, allows to you to Lock or Unlock a user without changing the password. When Locked is set to No, then Failed Logins automatically sets to 0, allowing the user to login again. When Locked is set to Yes, then Failed Logins automatically sets to 3 and user cannot login anymore.

  • The Login Option column should be displayed during user creation as well as in the Users dashboard with the default value being NATIVE. This column will be editable on the Users dashboard.

  • Adding the email address is mandatory and email address must be unique for all records when the Login Option is set to SSO or BOTH.
