The displayed statistics, compares the first two Column Types in a BOM Compare Structure by identifying the total number of unique idents and then accessing the increase or decrease in quantity across these idents. The total number of unique nodes containing these idents are also compared.

Only the first two column types available in the BOM Compare Structure will be compared irrespective of the number of columns types available.

To understand this in an easier way, follow the steps below:

  1. Create two unique work packages in the Work Packages tab:

    • Work Package 1 (with say, 3 List nodes)

    • Work Package 2 (with say, 4 List nodes)

  2. On the BOM Compare structures tab, create a new structure- Structure A:

    • 1st Column Type with Work Package 1

    • 2nd Column Type with Work Package 2

  3. Create a new Compare Job using this new structure (Structure A) in the BOM Structures tab.

  4. Click View Results to see the results of your compare job. Note that only the first two column types available in the BOM Compare Structure are compared.

    • Total Idents Compared indicates the number of idents that were compared.

    • Idents with Increased Quantity indicates the number of idents where the change is a positive quantity, while

    • Ident with Decreased Quantity indicates the number of ident where the change is a negative quantity.

    • Nodes Compared indicates the total number of unique nodes that were compared across the ident codes compared.

The Change column indicates the increase or decrease in a quantity on comparison between work packages.
