  1. Click Packages tab for the required PPL.

  3. Type the package number in the Package Number box.

  4. Type or select the package type In the Type box.

  5. Type the number of packages you want to create, in the Number of Packages box.

SHARED Tip Type Yes for the Lot Package box, if the package might have more quantities of some items later. Mention such items in the Description box. Lot packages are not considered for HLO calculation and their dimensions (X,Y,Z) are automatically set to zero.

  6. If required, type a short description of the package, in the Short Description box.

  7. Type Yes or No as appropriate in the Export License Required box.

  8. Enter the volume of the package. You can provide the volume in one of the following ways:

    • Type the package dimensions in the Dimensions boxes. The volume is automatically calculated based on the dimension values.

    • Type the package volume in the Volume box.

The Volume box is only editable when all the dimension values are zero.

  9. Type the gross weight of the package in the Gross Weight box.

  10. If required, type the net weight of the package in the Net Weight box. Total Gross Weight and Total Freight Ton are automatically calculated by the application.

  12. If required, enter any shipping related instruction for this package in the Shipping Comment box.

  15. If required, you can mention the container characteristics for a preliminary package. Generally they are entered later.

    • The Total Freight Ton value is automatically calculated based on the Total Volume and Total Gross Weight value. The metric measurement total freight tons is the maximum of either the total weight in metric tons or the total volume in cubic meters, whichever is greater.

    • You can also create a package by selecting an existing package and clicking Duplicate Packageduplicate_package. That creates a new package containing the same information as the selected package. However, the package items are not copied when you duplicate a package.

    • While creating a preliminary package it might be easier to duplicate an existing package and then modify it. For that, select the package and click Duplicate Row from the Row Actions menu.

    • Click Delete Row from the Row Actions menu to delete a preliminary package.
