The Home page contains the following elements:

Tutorials - Allows you to view the tutorials on using the Portal.

To view all the tutorials, you have to log on with the Portal. Before logging on, Registration Video link appears instead of the Tutorials link.

Reference Docs - Subcontractors can access project-specific reference documents through the Portal. For example, these documents can be work rules, project procedures, or safety requirements.

This option is specific to customers. You may or may not see this option available in the Portal.

Help – Allows you to view the online help for the Smart Materials Portal.

About – Allows you to view software information about the Smart Materials Portal.

Code of Conduct - If this link is displayed, you can click to view the Code of Conduct document.

Navigation bar - Allows you to access your account, Inquiries module, and Subcontracts module.

Disable ActiveX Filtering

Refer Microsoft help to disable ActiveX filtering

ActiveX Filtering is a new feature for Internet Explorer 9
which allows you to browse the Web
without running any ActiveX controls.
Flash Player is an ActiveX control and when filtering is enabled
Flash content will not be displayed on a webpage.

Firefox

Enable the following:

  • Shockwave Active X Control

  • Shockwave Flash Object

  • Java Plug-in (may be multiple add-ons)

  • QuickTime Plug-in (may be multiple add-ons)

  • Windows Media Player

  1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.

  2. Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons.

  3. In the Currently loaded add-ons list, click Run without Permissions.

  4. Look for the following add-ons in the list that's displayed. If any of these add-ons are listed, make sure the Status for each is listed as Enabled

Enable JavaScript on Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Choose Tools > Options to open a dialog box.

  3. In the row of colored icons at the top, click Content.

  4. Select the Enable JavaScript check box so that a tick appears.

  5. Click OK.

Google Chrome

Enable Flash Player on Google Chrome

  1. Type about: plugins into the address bar at the top of a Chrome browser window.

  2. Click Details at the upper-right corner of the page.

  3. Find the Flash (or Shockwave Flash) listing on the Plug-ins page and click the corresponding Enable button.

  4. Close all Chrome windows and restart the browser.
