  1. From the Home screen, tap Receive tile.

    In the Receive screen, the software displays MRR number along with the originating document (PO or RN) and the number of line items in the MRR.

    Receive Materials > Receive

  2. Select an MRR.

    The software displays all the line items. Each line item also displays the number of items received and the expected quantity based on the PO or RN.

    • If an MRR is created using the Assign tile in MobileScan, then the software includes the warehouse and location specified in MobileScan in the header information of the MRR.

    • You cannot have any un-posted MRRs for a PO and a RN of the same PO at the same time. The software displays the following error:

    • Use Search to search for an ident, tag, or barcode.

    • If ZC_DSP_ITM project defaults is set to:

      Y (default) - the application displays all the line items even if the expected quantity and received quantity are equal to zero.

      N - the application does not display the line items if the expected quantity and received quantity are equal to zero.

  3. Tap to receive an item against the MRR.

    The receive screen will look different depending on the platform you are operating on. For the browser version you will only have the keyboard option indicated by Keyboard Symbol. On a mobile device there will be two other options, Activate Phone Camera to activate the phone camera to scan barcodes, and 100 to activate the RFID scanner on the trigger mount.

  4. Enter Warehouse, Location, and Quantity.

  5. Tap the scan option to scan the barcodes or RFID tags.

    Alternatively, you can either type the barcode or tap Activate Phone Camera icon to scan the barcode/QR code using the device camera or tap the 100 icon to scan the RFID/Bluetoth beacons. For more information about the scan behavior, see Scan behavior.

    To scan an RFID tag, tap 100 to bring up the RFID scan screen.

    When you activate the RFID scanner using the trigger mount, the application lists all the RFID tags in the area.

    • All the RFIDs are displayed including active RFIDs and Passive RFIDs.

    • Passive RFIDs uses the RFID number only.

    • Active RFID uses the RFID number the RSSI active signal strength.

    • You can select all the tags by tapping Select All Button.

      When selecting All, the scan screen will look like the following.

      When conducting an RFID scan, the quantity will always be 1, as a tag represents one piece of material.

      Alternatively, you can select individual tags in the RFID scan screen by tapping on the desired RFID tag.

      The receive screen will now reflect the individual tag.

      The barcodes are generated with a prefix based on the first letters of company's name in the license file (default.json), followed by the item_ship_id. For example, with the entry below, the prefix would be WEI, and a sample barcode would be WEI69162778.

  6. Type the received quantity in the Quantity box.

  7. Type the Heat #, if available.

    Application displays:

    • Heat Number field if the project default ZC_ATT_HT value is set to N.

    • Attached Heat Number field if the project default ZC_ATT_HT value is set to Y. For more information about attached heat numbers and the project default ZC_ATT_HT, see Heat numbers and ZC_ATT_HT.

  8. Switch the Damage slider if the item is damaged.

    In case the material is damaged, type comments (optional) in the Comments box.

  9. Type the image description in the Attachment Description field.

    The maximum length allowed for image description is 20 characters.

  10. Type the image description and then attach an image.

    • To select an image from the mobile gallery, tap Attachment Icon - MRR and then tap Open.

    • To take a picture using the mobile camera, tap Camera Icon - MRR and then tap Ok.

      • You can attach multiple images to an MRR.

      • You can see the attachment details in D.90.21 Attachments screen in Smart Materials. To access D.90.21, tap the Attachments button in C.20.01 Prepare MRR by PO, C.20.03 Prepare MRR by Direct Receive, C.20.04 Prepare MRR by Release Notes screen. The image description is added to the to Short Desc field in D.90.21 screen.

      • The Description field in D.90.21 is a concatenation of the following values separated by a colon (:):

      • MRR Number, position of the ident, Sub position of the Ident, Ident, Tag number, Ident description, and Short Description/Image description from the MobleScan client.

      • For example, MRR:MRR_0132 pos:31 subPos:1 ident:I10000373055 tagNumber: desc:New Scan CC_desc: test ASME B18.2.1 / ASME B18.2.2, A320 Gr. L7M / A194 Gr. 2HM, Full length threaded, Cadmium plated and Bichromate treated, Dumy Test -,.

      • Tap to confirm the scan.

        Receive Materials > Scan Done - 4.4 confirms that the scan is complete.

  11. Repeat steps 5 through 11 to scan multiple line items.

    • By default, the software selects the last entered warehouse and location and also resets the quantity to 1.

    • Confirmed scans are saved on the mobile device and are listed under the Sync tile. If auto-sync is enabled, data is automatically submitted to Smart Materials.

    • In offline mode, the software sends all the scans to the Sync tile. For more information on Sync, see Sync.

    • If a scan is unsuccessful, the software displays the following error message indicating that the barcode does not match with any of the line items in the MRR that assigned to you.

    • If a barcode is valid but does not belong to the selected MRR, the MobileScan application throws an error:

      Receive Material > Inner Scan > Item Not Part of PO/RN - Error Msg

  12. Tap Done to complete adding of items to the MRR.

    The software sends an update to material controller indicating that the MRR is ready for posting in Smart Materials. The MRR is no longer displayed in the MRR list.

    • If you sign in with a role that has a privilege MOBILE_POST_REPORT assigned, Done is replaced with Post. To post MRR in Smart Materials, tap Post.

    • If posting to Smart Materials fails, MobileScan displays a message:

      MRR posting denied. Contact Smart Materials Administrator.

      Smart Materials Administrator must check whether the function M_PCK_SITE_CUSTOM.check_before_post_mrr() returns True or False. For successful posting of MRR to Smart Materials, this function must return True.

    • To enable posting of MRR, select Use for APIs in User Security for Projects screen in Smart Materials.

      Receive or update a line item from the MRR - 5.1

      Rcv Qty - specifies the received item quantity for the current MRR/location combination.

      Rcv Other - specifies the received quantity with a different MRR/location combination.

      IS Qty - specifies the item shipment quantity.

      Qty Due - specifies the item quantity yet to be received. It is the difference between the item shipment quantity and sum of Rcv Qty and Rcv Other quantity.

      Qty Due = IS Qty - (Rcv Qty + Rcv Other)

SHARED Tip You can update the MRR line item quantities by entering the quantity, and then tapping Save. MobileScan will update the quantity in the MRR.
