Materials that are received on site are stored at a location in a warehouse. Intergraph Smart Materials lets you define location type, maximum weight, x, y, and z dimensions for each location. MobileScan uses these attributes to identify the appropriate location to receive a material.

When you scan a material to transfer, the MobileScan application identifies the warehouses and locations that meet the requirements based on the following criteria:

  • Location type - Specifies the location type such as Open, Rack, Container, and so on.

  • Maximum weight - Specifies the maximum weight that the location can hold.

  • x, y, and z dimensions - Specifies the dimensions in x, y, and z that the location can hold.

  • Specifies the location size in x, y, and z dimensions and is specified in length, width, and height.

  • Location weight - Specifies the weight of materials that a location can manage and is specified in Kilograms, Tons and so on.

If the weight or dimension unit to unit conversion in not defined in the Smart Materials A.10.13 screen, MobileScan application throws an error.
