Fabrication involves creation of spools, pipelines, structures, and parts from various raw materials using engineering drawings. Each fabrication shop/station handles a process such as Cutting, Folding, Machining, Punching, Shearing, Stamping, Welding, or Painting. At the final fabrication stage, you get the finished product.
The Fab Track feature in MobileScan allows you:
-
to import data from the design phase/BOM
-
plan the different stages in fabrication
-
issue and transfer items
-
track progress of work.
You can define your own fabrication types. A fabrication type can include two or more processes. For example, Type 1 can include Cutting, Folding, and Welding. Where as Type 2 can include Cutting, Folding, Punching, Welding, and Painting. For more information on defining a fabrication type, see Smart Materials MSCM Help.
In MobileScan, fabrication includes the following stages:
-
Initiate fabrication tracking process in the Initiate Issue tile
-
Fab track spool transfer in the Transfer tile includes the following steps:
-
scan the spool
-
scan the station to transfer in or transfer out material between different stations
-
create a Direct MRR or add to an existing PO/create a new PO.
-
To enable and work with fabrication tracking using MobileScan, you must do the following:
-
Assign MOBILE_FABTRACK privilege to the user.
-
In Smart Materials:
-
Use A.10.15 Item Types screen, create an item type TFM and select Default.
-
To enable posting of MIR, MRR, MTR, select Use for APIs in User Security for Projects screen in Smart Materials.
-
To create stations in the Attributes screen, use either Char or Date Time data type.
-
In the Fabrication Types screen, while sequencing stations, the last station that is added must be _OUT.
-
-
Set the project default ZC_FAB_OPT to one of the following values:
-
Direct MRR (Default) - Always create a Direct MRR.
-
PO - Always create a PO.
-
Select - Provides you the option of creating a Direct MRR or a PO.
