Copy the sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora files from the %SMAT_CLASSIC_InstallFolder%\others\oradata\repo8\scripts\useful\specials\ directory to your %12c_Oracle_Database_Home%\network\admin directory.
Sample scripts are available on the database server in %SMAT_DB_InstallFolder%\samples folder.
-
Modify the tnsnames.ora file in the %12c_Oracle_Database_Home%\network\admin as follows (replace REPO8 with your database name, and Your_Servername with the name of your database server):
REPO8.world =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS =
(COMMUNITY = TCP.world)
(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(Host = Your_Servername)
(Port = 1521)
)
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = REPO8)
(GLOBAL_NAME = REPO8.world)
)
)
-
Open the Services tab and click Refresh.
Check if the OracleOraDB12TNSListener and the OracleServicerepo8 are running.
The service name might differ depending on your database SID.
-
Open a Command Prompt window as an administrator.
-
Use the TNSPING utility to test connectivity (replace repo8 with your database name): tnsping repo8
If the connection is not established, check your sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora again.
