With Smart Materials version 10.1, the database infrastructure installation has been
changed from 'non CDB' to 'CDB with PDB'. For more information see www.oracle.com.

Open the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant and run as administrator.

Choose Create a database and click Next.

Enter a Global database name (CDB), for example: CDB.

Enter and confirm the Administrative password.

Select Create as Container database.

Enter a Pluggable database name (PDB), for example: SMAT.

Click Next.
When selecting the Advanced configuration, detailed customization can be made of the installation path, init.ora parameter
and tablespace. Here you can also integrate the pre-steps (9, 11) for the database
configuration.

Click Finish.

Click Close.
