Firstly, when a user navigates to the main menu in Smart Materials Classic or to the dashboard in Smart Materials Web, the software tries to reserve an ADM seat.
Secondly, opening a Classic screen in the Administration sub menu typically asks for this license. Expanding this menu tree branch will not change the license, only if a related screen is opened from there. The same applies if you open a screen of the Administration dashboard in Smart Materials Web.
The Administration dashboard in Smart Materials Web contains pages which existed already before version
10. These screens will continue to ask for a BIR license. See the chapter Smart Materials Business Intelligence Reporting (MBI) - BIR.
Whenever a ADM or BIR license cannot be retrieved from the license pool in any of the mentioned cases, the software tries to get a different license. This is described in Details on Licensing Workflow and Components.
ADM was available before product release 8.1 and was re-introduced with release 10.1 at the express request of many of our customers. If you are not interested in ADM, you can deactivate it in A.30.04 or in the License Modules section on the Roles and Menus page to experience the same behavior as before.
