  1. As a reference data user, I need to define the commodity rules so that I can build intelligent commodity codes in the group-part hierarchy.

  2. As a reference data user, I need to define the commodity properties and values so that I can build commodity codes.

  3. As a reference data user, I need to define the commodity codes so they can be used for specifications.

  4. As a reference data user, I need to define the dimensional data so that the proper combination of commodity code and dimensions can be established.

  5. As a reference data user, I need to map properties and dimensions for consumers so that the data can be used in the tools.

  6. As a reference data user, I need to define the unique component codes (Ident codes) so that I can use them in the SmartPlant Enterprise, including Intergraph SmartĀ® Materials, and deliver them to consumer systems.

  7. As a reference data user, I need to define the CMS (component management system) classification hierarchy to define the structure so that I can organize the components.

  8. As a reference data user, I need to define the CMS class properties to define how to describe the components.

  9. As a reference data user, I need to define the CMS components so that I can use them in the SmartPlant Enterprise, including Smart Materials, and deliver them to consumer systems.

  10. As a reference data user, I need to download vendor-specific content from the vendor website. This content must be in CMS format. The download step automatically loads the content in SmartPlant Reference Data.

  11. As a reference data user, I need to define what specifications rules are required to satisfy the company and/or project standards. These specification rules may include branch tables, wall thickness tables, and so forth.

  12. As a reference data user, I need to define and maintain the specifications using the commodities (defined in steps 6 and 9 or from the Standard Database) and the rules (defined in step 11 or from the Standard Database) to meet all engineering and design conditions in my company's projects. This includes bold selection tables, gasket selection tables, and so forth.

  13. As a reference data user, I need to define and maintain the catalogs, as required by the design tools. These catalogs contain components and/or specifications to be used by those tools in their project designs.

  14. As a SmartPlant Enterprise tool user, I need to receive the catalog data from SmartPlant Reference Data so that I can perform design activities for the required disciplines.

  15. As a design tool user, I need to receive the catalog data from SmartPlant Reference Data so that I can perform design activities for the required disciplines.

  16. As an ERP tool user, I need to receive the catalog data from SmartPlant Reference Data so that I can integrate the Ident codes with the ERP system and workflows.

  17. As a Smart Materials user, I need to use the components and/or specifications from SmartPlant Reference Data in the BOM and all other downstream modules.

  18. As a SmartPlant Reference Data user, I need to obtain and maintain prices for the components so that the budget for bulk material can be established.
