Purpose

This section explains how to return issued material to the inventory, using an RTI (Return to Inventory) report in the Smart Materials Site module.

Exercise

  1. Open the C.20.24.04 Return to Inventory screen from the Smart Materials > Site > Field Materials Control > C.20 Warehouse Management > Issuing menu branch.

  2. Click Cancel Query to switch to new record mode.

    The cursor is placed in the Create Date field.

  3. Open the LOV using List of Values .

  4. Pick the current date from the calendar.

  5. Click OK to close the LOV.

  6. Enter RTI Training in the Short Desc and Description fields.

  7. Click Save to save the changes.

  8. Click the Populate Inventory Issues button.

  9. Click Run Query to display MIR-TRAIN-0001 with its details.

  10. Select the Sel check box of the last two positions (PIPING/A100/NF-12004/02 Pos. 20 and 30).

  11. Click Fill In.

  12. Close the screen.

    You return to C.20.24.03.

  13. Enter 1 in the Return Quantity field for both positions.

  14. Click Save to save the changes.

  15. Click the Post button.

    The idents are booked back into the inventory with the entered return quantity.

  16. Close the screen.

  17. Open the C.20.14 Inventory by Ident screen from the Smart Materials > Site > Field Materials Control > C.20 Warehouse Management > Inventory Management menu branch.

  18. Click Enter Query to change to query mode.

  19. Open the LOV using List of Values .

  20. Select I0396853 from the list.

  21. Click OK to close the LOV.

  22. Click the Run Query button to display the selected ident code with its details.

    The returned material is again available for issue. The on hand quantity has increased accordingly.

  23. Close the screen.

  24. Open the C.20.21 MIR by Reservation screen from the Smart Materials > Site > Field Materials Control > C.20 Warehouse Management > Issuing menu branch.

  25. Click the Exe Query button to view MIR-TRAIN-0001.

    The MIR Number field in the first block and the Issued Quantity field in the second block are highlighted in red to indicate the return of issued material to the inventory.

  26. Close the screen.
