Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
2020 (10.0)

Material/work groups are used to group materials or services into meaningful categories. The material/work groups can be assigned to suppliers who are able to provide the corresponding materials or services. On requisitions, inquiries, and agreements, the material/work groups can then be used as filter criteria to find the appropriate suppliers.

The material/work groups and the material/work group types are maintained on the P.10.42 Material/Work Groups screen.

In the first (Material/Work Group Types) block, you define the material/work group types, which can be used to group the material/work groups. Enter the type name in the Matl/Work Group Type field and the type descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields.

In the second (Material/Work Groups) block, you assign the appropriate material/work groups to the selected type. Enter the name of the group in the Matl/Work Group field and the descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields. The revision is automatically set to 0 (zero) in the Rev field. In the Register field, select a code from the LOV to identify the register that should be created for items in this group.

There is no Smart Materials functionality behind this Register field.

You can create a new revision for the highest available revision of the selected material/work group using the Revision button on the right of the second block.

In the third block on the TECs tab, you can define technical evaluation checklists (TECs) for the selected material/work group. Technical evaluation checklists are defined and used to technically evaluate and accept the quotes from the bidders, especially if the supplier offers alternates or substitutions for the originally requested material. To define a checklist item, enter a unique sequential number in the Seq field and the descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields. The revision is automatically set to 0 (zero) in the Rev field. If a document with the details of the technical evaluation is linked to the checklist item, enter the name of the document file in the File Name field. You can select a document pre-defined on D.10.11 Documents from the LOV in the Document Code field. The document revision is displayed in the Rev field. You can create a new revision for the highest available revision of the selected technical evaluation checklist using the Revision button on the bottom of the third block.

Click the Open button to open the document that is linked to the checklist item in the File Name field. As a prerequisite for opening documents from this screen, the project default ZI_WEB_CEC must be set. For more information about this project default, see ZI_WEB_CEC.

In the third block on the TEC Sets tab, you can define technical evaluation checklist sets (TEC sets) for the selected material/work group.

Enter the set name in the TEC Set field and the descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields. The revision is automatically set to 0 (zero) in the Rev field. You can create a new revision for the highest available revision of the selected TEC set using the Revision button.

In the next (TEC Set Details) block, you assign pre-defined technical evaluation checklists to the selected set. Select the checklist defined on the TECs tab from the LOV in the Seq field.

The Open button on the TEC Sets tab can be used in the same way as on the TECs tab.
