When assembly idents are built, the internal assembly number is stored in the ATTR_NUM3 column of the M_SPEC_ITEMS table. In other words, the use of this field is allocated to the assembly generation procedure. To make this internal number visible, you must assign the ASS_NO attribute to the specification rule on the S.50.01 Specification Rules screen.

The assignment of the ASS_NO attribute to the specification rule on the item level is optional. However, it is helpful to view the internal assembly number in case problems occur during assembly generation.

Select the specification rule in the first block.

In the third (Attributes) block, create a new record using the New Record button. Enter a unique sequence number in the Seq field. Select the ASS_NO attribute from the LOV in the Attr Name field. Select ITEM from the drop-down list in the Level field. Finally, select the physical attribute ATTR_NUM3 from the LOV in the Physical field.
