Technical evaluation checklists can be assigned to inquiries when you prepare the requests for quotation. When approving the inquiry, these checklists are copied to the quote summaries.

Technical evaluation checklists can be defined for material/work groups on the P.10.42 screen. The checklists created on that screen are regarded as templates.

These templates are automatically copied to an inquiry in the following cases:

  • You assign material/work groups to an inquiry, or you change the material/work group of an inquiry. This action can be done either on P.30.11 Inquiries, or on this screen on the Inquiry tab or the Material/Work Groups tab.

  • You assign a requisition to the inquiry on the Requisitions tab, when the requisition requires a technical evaluation and a material/work group has been assigned to the requisition.

Apart from these automatic assignments, you can assign additional technical evaluation checklists to an inquiry on the Inquiry sub-tab of the Tech. Eval. Checklists tab on the P.30.21 Prepare RFQ screen.

Select the material/work group from the LOV in the Matl/Work Group field, and then select the pre-defined checklist from the LOV in the Seq field. The software populates all other fields with the pre-defined data. You can double-click in the Matl/Work Group and in the Seq fields to open the P.10.42 Material/Work Groups screen.

Alternatively, you can select only the material/work group from the LOV and define a new checklist by entering the sequence number in the Seq field, the descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields, a file name in the File Name field, and/or a document code in the Document Code field.

The checklists created here are not added to the list of technical evaluation checklists defined on the P.10.42 Material/Work Groups screen.

The technical evaluation checklists of the inquiry remain unchanged when you clear the material/work group of an inquiry, when you delete all assigned material/work groups, or when you reverse the assignment of a requisition to an inquiry.

The Matl/Work Group field shows the name of the material/work group that requires the technical evaluation checklist. The material/work group revision is displayed in the Rev field.

The sequence number used to order the technical evaluation checklists within a material/work group is shown in the Seq field.

The technical evaluation checklist descriptions are displayed in the Short Desc and Description fields. The File Name field shows the name of the file containing the technical evaluation checklist. The Document Code shows the name of the document referenced by the technical evaluation checklist, with its revision in the Rev field.

Instead of inserting single technical evaluation checklists as described above, you can copy pre-defined TEC sets (technical evaluation checklist sets) from P.10.42 Material/Work Groups. Select the material/work group from the LOV in the Matl/Work Group field at the bottom of the screen, and then select the TEC set from the LOV in the TEC Set field. Finally, click the Copy button to copy the technical evaluation checklists assigned to the selected TEC set to the inquiry. The Copy button is only enabled if you have entered a material/work group and a TEC set in the suitable fields.

If a file name has been entered for the technical evaluation checklist in the File Name field, you can click the Open button to open this file.

This button only opens the technical evaluation checklist itself; it does not open any referenced document.
