Purpose
This section explains how to define the ASS_NO attribute, the assembly short code, and the assembly commodity rule in Smart Reference Data.
Exercise

Open the A.50.01 Attributes screen from the Administration > A.50 Database Structure menu branch.

Click the Run Query button to display the available attribute groups. Scroll down to the GEOM ATTRS attribute group.

Click in the second (Attributes) block, and click the New Record button to create a new record.

Enter ASS_NO in the Name field, select NUMBER from the LOV in the Data Type field, enter 8 in the Width field and in the Form Width field, and select - (none) from the LOV in the Unit field.

Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

Open the S.10.08 Short Codes screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.10 Commodity Group and Parts menu branch.

Enter ASS-FLG in the Short Code field and Flange Assembly in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Save the changes using the Save button.

Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

Open the S.10.01 Commodity Rules screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.10 Commodity Group and Parts menu branch.

Click the New Record button on the toolbar.
If the screen opens in enter query mode, that is, all fields are empty and displayed with a yellow background, click the Cancel Query button to change to input mode.

Enter ASSEMBLY in the Rule field and Assembly in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Click in the Tablename field on the Commodity Attributes tab, and select PS_PRESS_RAT from the LOV.

Go to the next line, and select P_MATERIAL from the LOV.

Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

Click the Next Block button to open Window 2.

Enter 1 in the Digit Id field, and select M_COMMODITY_GROUPS from the LOV in the Tablename field.

Go to the next line, enter 2 in the Digit Id field, and select M_PARTS from the LOV in the Tablename field.

Continue with the next lines as displayed in the picture below.

Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

Click the Next Block button to open Window 3.

Check the layout definition in the Layout Short and Layout Long fields. It should look like the example in the picture below.

Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.
