Purpose

This section explains how to configure the pre-settings needed to work with the E&PI(BOM) module. General settings are defined by means of DBA settings, and project specific settings are defined by means of the project defaults.

Exercise

  1. Open the A.60.04 DBA Settings screen from the menu branch Administration > A.60 Utilities.

  2. Check the following settings on the General Database Settings and Application Server Specific Settings tabs. Correct the values if necessary. The Active indicator must be selected.

Replace <app-server> with your server name.

  1. If you have entered or modified values, save the changes using the Save button.

  2. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All or Close from the main menu.

  3. Open the A.20.12 Projects Defaults screen from the menu branch Administration > A.20 Project/Product Group.

  4. On A.20.12, the login project TRAINPROJ should be displayed in the first block. If not, click the Enter Query button to change to query mode, open the LOV using the List of Values button, and select the project from the list. Then click OK to close the LOV.

  5. Click the Run Query button to display the selected specification with its details.

  6. Click the E+PI (BOM) tab to display the project defaults relevant for the BOM module.

  7. Double-click in the Value field of project default ZB_1MSTR to open the LOV, select Y, and click OK to close the LOV and copy the selected value to the Value field. In the same way, set the following project defaults:

  8. Save the changes using the Save button.

  9. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All or Close from the main menu.

  10. Open the A.20.06.11 Attribute Security screen from the menu branch Administration > A.20 Project/Product Group > A.20.06 User Security.

  11. Click the New Record button, and enter the name of the new view ā€˜TRAIN-PIPā€™ in the View Name field and the description ā€˜Pipingā€™ in the Short Desc and Description fields.

  12. Click the Save button to save the new list view.

  13. Click in the Attr Name field of the second (View Attributes) block, and click the List of Values button to open the LOV.

  14. On the left side, select an attribute to be added to the list view, and click the button to move it to the selection list on the right. Add these attributes to the list:

    To move a selected attribute up or down in the list, use the and buttons.

  15. When you have selected all attributes, click the button to copy these attributes to the A.20.06.11 screen.

  16. Change the sequence number in the Ord Seq field as needed, and then click the Save button to save the view attributes.

  17. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All or Close from the main menu.

  18. Open the A.20.06.02 User Security for Projects screen from the menu branch Administration > A.20 Project/Product Group > A.20.06 User Security.

  19. Click the Enter Query button, and enter your user name in the User field and TRAINPROJ in the Project field, or open the LOV using the List of Values button and select TRAINPROJ from the list. Then, click the Run Query button to view the selected records.

  20. Click in the View Name field, open the LOV using the List of Values button, select TRAIN-PIP from the list, and click OK.

  21. Click the Save button to save the changes.

  22. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All or Close from the main menu.
