Before you can work with PLL for the first time you have to provide following values for DBA setting in screen [A.60.04] - DBA Settings:

  • RBS_PLL

Globally specifies a rollback segment that is dedicated to PLL export jobs. If this is not configured, the Oracle server will assign a rollback segment to PLL transactions randomly. Use of this option requires that one or more rollback segments with sufficient space are created and brought online. Furthermore, all directories that Smart Materials needs for its log files should be configured correctly in the instance initialization parameter file (init.ora).

  • PLL_EXPORT_PATH

Specifies the global default directory for PLL.

  • PLL_DOWNLOAD_DEST

Destination Dir for Download of PLL file in web environment

  • PLL_DOWNLOAD_URL

Virtual Dir for downloaded PLL file in web environment.

  • JCS_USER_STATUS

Controls whether the JCS scheduling parameter screen is shown or not prior to submitting a batch job.

The user specifies the file (filename) to which and where (physical path), the data is to be downloaded.

Using this screen, you can execute the PLL export job in batch or online. The same logic as for import jobs applies: execution in JCS batch will create the export file on the server; online execution will create it on your client PC. During Batch processing, this file is automatically created on the database Server.

During Online processing, this file is automatically created on the Client (non-web environment) or on the application server (web environment). If you are working in a web environment you are offered the possibility to download the file afterwards.

Please make sure that DBA setting PLL_DOWNLOAD_URL has been configured in A.60.04 before starting a download. A valid entry for the setting is:

your_web_server/marian_pll_download

The name of your web server is followed by a virtual directory name. The right hand entry must match the PLL_DOWNLOAD_DEST except that it has a slash at the end. The left hand entry must match the PLL_DOWNLOAD_URL, but the server name is omitted and a trailing slash is added.

Define a separator for the fields you want to extract into.
