Approvers can enter a suggested tender reference amount to propose a new maximum initial price. If the A.20.49 Approval Sequence screen is opened from the P.30.21 Prepare RFQ screen using the Approval Sequence button on the Inquiry tab, each approver can type a suggested tender reference amount in the Sugg. Tender Ref Amt box.

The calculated tender reference amount is displayed in the Calculated Tender Ref Amount box for the approver’s information.

The aforementioned boxes appear only when the project default ZP_TDREFAM is set to Y.

Because there can be multiple approvers assigned to the inquiry, the following cases can happen:

  • The calculated inquiry reference amount does not change during the approval procedure. In this case, the calculated tender reference amount is used.

  • The calculated and approved tender reference amounts are not equal, but the approvers approve the suggested tender reference amount. Tender automatically accepts the reference amount, recommended by the approvers.

  • The calculated and approved tender reference amounts are not equal, and the approvers recommend several different reference amounts. In this case, the Final Approve button is enabled on the Inquiry tab. When this button is clicked, a window opens to ask you to:

    • Enter the final tender reference amount, and

    • Provide a reason why you chose this tender reference amount.

After you click the Final Approve button:

  • The inquiry is approved,

  • The tender reference amount is updated, and

  • The reason for the tender reference amount is displayed.
