When the packer has accumulated enough material for a transport, the transport planner creates bill of ladings (BOLs) and determines which containers are to be included in the transport. According to this BOL, the packer delivers the cargo to a freight forwarder.

BOLs are created and maintained on the P.80.31 BOLs screen. Here you can see the BOLs and the containers included in the BOLs.

For each means of conveyance, one or more BOLs are created by the freight forwarder. A BOL can be created without knowing the carrier. Then the carrier must be filled in later on when it is known.

In the first (Bill of Ladings) block, enter the name (number) of the bill of lading in the BOL Number field. The invoice number can be entered in the Invoice Number field.

Enter the total weight of the material on the BOL in the BOL Weight field, with the unit in the Weight Unit field. The setting of project default ZX_WEIGHT is used as the default value for the weight unit; it can be changed.

The date for which custom clearance is predicted (estimated) can be selected from the LOV in the Custom Clearance Predicted field.

Enter the total volume of the containers assigned to the BOL in the BOL Volume field, with the unit in the Volume Unit field. The setting of project default ZX_VOLUME is used as the default value for the volume unit; it can be changed.

The dimensions of a single item on the bill of lading (x, y, z) can be entered in the BOL Dim field.

The total number of pieces on this bill of lading can be entered in the BOL Pieces field.

The date on which custom clearance actually took place can be selected from the LOV in the Custom Clearance Actual field.

Select the name of the carrier from the LOV in the Carrier Name field. The LOV provides all means of conveyances defined on the P.80.41 screen. Selecting the carrier automatically populates the Voy or Flt Num field with the number of the voyage or the flight, the ETD Date field with the estimated time (date) of departure, and the ATD Date field with the actual time (date) of departure.

In the second (Containers) block, the list of containers assigned to the selected BOL is displayed. Containers are defined on the P.80.23 Container Index screen.

The Container Number field displays the name (number) of the container. The container descriptions are shown in the Short Desc and Description fields. The weight of the container is shown in the Weight field, with its unit in the Weight Unit field. The volume of the container is shown in the Volume field, with its unit in the Volume Unit field. The container dimensions (x, y, z) are displayed in the Dimensions field.
