Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
10.1

The process line list (PLL) allows you to insert or update:

  • Lines

  • Attributes for line

  • DNs for a line

  • Attributes for DN

  • Branches

The import of the data is done in two steps:

  1. In the first step, the data of the XML file is stored in a table.

  2. In the second step, Smart Materials tries to process the data successfully. The error and log files that are created contain statistics and error messages for both steps.

With PLL you can insert and update lines, attributes for line, DN for line, attributes for line DN and line list branches in the same way as Smart Materials screens allow it. For example, you cannot insert DN for a line before a line has been approved. Moreover you can insert or update translated descriptions for lines.

For each object (units, lines, attributes for line, DN for line, attributes for line DN and line list branches), the file must contain the information why it can be found in the file. The attribute <ACTION> has to be used for this information. They may be set to either Y or N. Y means that the object is to be inserted, replaced or an update is to be performed. N stands for not to be processed. This object is neither to be inserted nor to be modified. Nevertheless, the object information is needed to show the path for underlying objects. Y is default.

For some data the values of project defaults are taken if no value is provided in the XML file.
