In the matrix footer area, you can display up to six customizable fields.

The values, prompts, and formats of the fields within the matrix footer are determined by functions of the CIP package m_pck_quote_custom. The first five fields are numeric fields; only the sixth field is an alphanumeric field. The fields and the associated CIP functions are listed in the table below. The Default column displays the default value provided by the CIP delivered with the software.

The functions get_...._sum_line and get_...._awarding_sum return the same values. But they differ with respect to their arguments. For performance reasons, both functions are required.

If you do not want to see so many footer fields, you can remove them. The height of the spread table will be adjusted accordingly, and fields will be moved up to avoid any gaps.

Default values, prompts, and formats are provided by the standard installation so that you can work with this screen without applying any changes to this package if you like.

At the bottom of this screen, you can find three additional numeric fields that can be used to display overall totals.

The values, prompts, and formats of these fields are also configurable using the functions of the CIP package m_pck_quote_custom. The fields and the associated CIP functions are listed in the table below. The Default column displays the default value provided by the CIP delivered with the software.

total sum of costs when applying best splits

Regarding to the third footer field, the sum of costs includes only the lowest or all other costs of the potentially selected bidders defined on the quote summary level, depending on the setting of project default ZP_ALL_OC. If ZP_ALL_OC is set to Y (default), the other costs at the quote summary level of all potentially selected bidders are included in the total of best split. If ZP_ALL_OC is set to N, only the other costs at the quote summary level of the bidder who has the lowest other costs regardless of whether he is selected or not are included in the total. But only the bidders whose bid has not been rejected are considered.

The description above is only valid for the standard installation of that CIP. It is up to you to modify it in any way you want.

The Alternates/Options field displays the sum of included alternates/options items from the Alternates/Options tab for the bidder currently displayed in the matrix header. You can double-click in this field to open the Alternates/Options tab.

Click the Best Bid button if you want to perform "cherry picking," that is, if you want to assign each position to the bidder who submitted the cheapest bid. This button is only enabled for users with the ALLOW AWARDING privilege granted, and as long as no quote has been approved, and the approval process has not been started for any quote. When the best bids are applied, all other current selections are reset. Only positions fulfilling the following prerequisites are considered:

  • The No Bid indicator is not checked.

  • The technical evaluation is not necessary or has already been done if it is required.

  • The commercial evaluation has been completed.

  • The quote has not been rejected.

When the awarding is completed, the quote summary can be approved to make it available on the P.50.01 Agreements screen for the downstream process of creating agreements based on the quote summary. For more information about the approval of quote summaries, see Quote Summaries.
