Supplier/subcontractor information is created and maintained by the procurement department and sometimes updated project by project in accordance to the client contract.
A supplier provides materials to a project. He may also provide services as well as materials. A supplier who provides only services is called a subcontractor.
A new supplier/subcontractor can be created in Smart Materials in two different ways. Either you as the contractor enter all supplier/subcontractor information into the system, or the supplier/subcontractor provides all relevant data electronically by completing the company self-registration in Smart Materials Portal.
