The B.20.01.41 screen is very similar to the B.20.01.35 screen described in the previous chapter. It allows you to run various variable verification and processing routines, as well as fixed ones provided by Smart Materials. It is not used to assign a new list status to BOM positions.

Processing takes into account all the nodes and positions below the initial node.

A general selection rule (Where Condition) can be allocated to a job. Only those nodes or positions that satisfy this selection rule are included in processing.

  1. Open B.20.01 Edit BOM.

  2. Select the BOM node that marks the start of the verification job operation.

  3. Click Start Job .

Screen B.20.01.41 Start Verification Job opens.

You can either select an existing list job or define a new one. Because List Job management is user-specific; you can only edit your own jobs, that is, the jobs you have created. The quickest way to set up a new job is to copy a Master Job and then re-adjust the processing parameters. To create a Master Job, proceed with the next steps.

  4. Type the job name in the Name field.

  5. Optionally, type the job description in the Short Desc and Description fields.

  6. Select the Master check box.

  7. Select a list status from the LOV in the List Status field.

  8. Select Best Qty, or select Specified and select an issue status.

  9. Optionally, select a where condition from the LOV in the Where Condition field. A where condition can be used to restrict the assignment.

  10. In the List Job Checks block, define the list checks which should be applied by the job as follows:

    1. Type a sequence number in the Order Seq field.

    2. Select the list check from the LOV in the List Check field.

    3. Select the Update check box if the job should update positions to include this check in the job.

  11. Click Save to save the Master Job.

A Master Job cannot be initiated for processing.

  12. To create a normal List job from the Master job, click Duplicate Job.

  13. To run the job, click Start.

Example of a practical application:

When data is imported from a CAD system (for example, PDS or Smart 3D), the import routine will only import commodity codes and their sizes. However, to create or update requisitions, Smart Materials requires idents. One of the verification routines available in B.10.01 is the Find Ident routine. With this routine, all idents for all imported BOM positions can be found and entered.
