Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
2020 (10.0)

To make it possible to have material control of parts that are not standardized in Smart Materials, complete processing logic for so-called "Tagged Items" is implemented. This logic is supported by ORI.

For the correct processing of a position in this context, two pieces of information are important:

  1. The tag number itself, which is in the import file in value 10 of a RLI_1 line

  2. The item type description, which is in value 11

The item type of a requisition line item references an entry in the table M_ITEM_TYPES, in which different types can be defined. These types must relate to only four different predefined item rules. These rules control the processing during the import operation and also during all steps afterwards in the workflow.

The following item rules are supported:

  • SOT - Standard without Tags. This processing rule describes the "normal" processing logic for standardized parts in Smart Materials without tag numbers.

  • SWT - Standard with Tags. These parts are standardized in Smart Materials. For the purpose of the material tracking, these parts have a tag number. Concerning import processing, such a position must have a tag number. Otherwise, it is turned down with an appropriate log entry.

  • REF - Referenced Items. Parts of this rule are not supported by ORI. If the item rule REF is assigned to the item type in the import file, an error will be given, and the position will not be imported.

  • TOM - Tags without Milestones, TWM - Tags with Milestones, and TFM - Fabricated Tags with Milestones. Parts manufactured by this rule are not standardized. A pseudo-standardization is created in Smart Materials during the import of such positions; that is, Smart Materials creates a commodity code for this tag number, takes the values for commodity code layout short and long if provided in the import file, and creates a 'pseudo ident' with the sizes 1-5 = 0 for this commodity code.
