Use the A.60.02.07 Project Copy Setup screen to define a project copy setup. A copy setup represents a group of copy functions along with their prerequisites. When you run a predefined setup, all the copy functions assigned to this setup are called one by one in the following sequence:

  1. Administration setup-related copy functions (if any included in the setup).

  2. E&PI(BOM) setup-related copy functions (if any included in the setup).

  3. E&PI(Req) setup-related copy functions (if any included in the setup).

  4. MSCM setup-related copy functions (if any included in the setup).

  5. Other Smart Materials standard setup-related copy functions (if any included in the setup).

  6. User-defined copy functions (if any included in the setup).

In the first (Copy Setups) block, you create and maintain the copy setup configurations. Enter the name of the setup in the Copy Setup field. The project where the setup data must be copied from is entered in the Template Project field. Use the LOV to select the project from the list; only projects assigned to the same product group as the login project are available for selection. The Remarks field can be used to enter comments.

Discipline-related setup data will be copied depending on the setting in the Options section.

  • Login Discipline – If this option is selected, the data from the login discipline will be copied.

  • Discipline – With this option selected, you must enter the disciplines in the From Discipline field for the template project and in the To Discipline field for the login project. Use the LOVs on both fields to select the discipline from the list.

  • All Discipline – Select this option to copy data from all disciplines of the template project to the corresponding disciplines of the login project.

The selected On Error option controls the behavior of the copy function in case of an error.

  • Rollback – If any error occurs, a rollback of all data copied so far will be made.

  • Continue – If any error occurs, all data copied so far will be saved, and the procedure will continue with the next operation.

In the second (Copy Setup Details) block, you can assign the copy functions that should be performed by the copy setup job. Use the LOV on the Function field to select functions from the predefined list. The Remark and the Discipline Specific indicators will be taken over from the function definition. A double-click on the Function field opens the A.60.02.06 screen, which displays the details of the selected function.

You can insert new copy functions or delete functions from the list at any time.

To start the project setup copy job, click the button at the bottom. The copy functions assigned to this job will be executed one by one, in the sequence described at the beginning of this chapter. When the job is completed or aborted, a message will appear as shown below.

Acknowledge this message with OK to open the A.60.72 Show Log File screen displaying the log file of this project setup copy job. Here you can see the name and the content of the admin setup copy process log file. This allows you to check the result of the copy process. For example, it’s possible that no data were copied because data are already present in some of the involved tables.

If you want to check this log file again after you have closed the A.60.72 screen, you can find this file in the directory of your database, which is specified with DBA setting LOG_FILE_DEST or with project default ZX_MAR_LOG. The name of the log file starts with Copy Project_ followed by a sequential number, with the extension .log.
