You can define user broadcasts on the A.60.52 User Broadcasts screen to display a message in a message box. This message box appears when the user is logged in, at a pre-defined time and date.

In the first (User Broadcasts) block, you can define a message to be sent to all users that are logged in to the software. When you create a new record, the logged in user is automatically entered in the User field. Select the date and time from the LOV in the Time to send field to define the time the message is sent to the users. Select the date and time from the LOV in the Valid Until field to define the end time of the message.

Select the Prevent Login check box if users should not be allowed to log in to the software during the time interval defined by the Time to send and Valid Until values. If this check box is selected, at login the broadcast text appears and the session is terminated.

Select the Force Disconnect check box if users should be forced to disconnect after receiving the broadcast message. If this check box is selected, an automatic logoff is executed when the user receives the broadcast text. You can enter the broadcast message text in the Message field; it is stored for the login language. If needed, click the NLS Description button to open the Translated Descriptions window, where you can enter messages in other languages.

In the second (Sessions) block, all active sessions on the database are displayed, along with whether the session received the message. The sessions are shown with the SID, serial#, auditing SID, logged in user, login project, client machine, and client user.

The Confirmed check box indicates if the user has received the message. The Disconnected check box indicates if the user is disconnected from the software.

Users receive a message as displayed below.

If the Force Disconnect option is enabled, a further message appears.

The session is automatically closed when you click OK to acknowledge this message.

The same messages appear any time the user tries to log in during the defined time interval. With the Prevent Login and Force Disconnect options enabled, the user cannot log in up to the time defined in the Valid Until field.
