Project default ZP_MS_ACFD is used to permit enabling or disabling automatic forecast adjustments in the area of Planning and Milestone Tracking.

By default ZP_MS_ACFD is set to Y, thus ensuring an accurate and up-to-date forecast at every point in time a milestone plan is queried from the database. In detail, whenever an actual date or a forecasted date of some milestone is updated (in case of a forecasted date it probably needs to be locked as well), the forecasted dates of the subsequent milestones will be adjusted accordingly, and this includes applying derivation rules for forecasted as well as actual dates (in case such derivation rules are present, which depends on the underlying configuration of milestone labels). Locked forecasted dates will not be touched during this recalculation.

This automatism was introduced earlier in order to relieve users of the need to frequently trigger forecast recalculation manually (via the calculation drop-down list in the Smart Materials Planning module or by pressing Calc Forecasted button in the P.60 screens of Smart Materials Classic). However, if explicit recalculation is preferred, you now have the option of simply turning off this system-internal automatic maintenance of the forecast of planning items by setting ZP_MS_ACFD to N.
