Smart Materials and Smart Reference Data are discipline-oriented in some of their modules, namely the entire Smart Reference Data module and the E&PI (BOM and REQ) modules of Smart Materials. In general, users can only see the data of the login discipline.
With the assignment of queryable disciplines, users can view the data of these disciplines in addition to the login discipline data.
Administrators who have the ASSIGN DISCIPLINES privilege can use the A.20.06.03 Queryable Disciplines screen to assign disciplines to all users from all projects/product groups. Further, the Include All Disciplines button is activated for users having this privilege, and the Copy Values button is active for all projects/product groups. For users that do not have the ASSIGN DISCIPLINES privilege, the buttons will only be active for user security records of the login project/product group.
The example in the picture above shows the user RS who can log in to project RST with discipline PIPING, with the queryable disciplines ELECTRICAL and INSTRUMENT assigned. That means the user will see the data of all three mentioned disciplines, but he can only insert, update, or delete data belonging to the PIPING (login) discipline.
Clicking the Copy Values button will open Window 2, which prompts you to insert the user, project or product group, discipline, NLS, and role where the queryable disciplines are to be copied from. Clicking the Start button starts the copy procedure; clicking the Cancel button cancels it.
When you use the Include all Disciplines button, all available disciplines defined on the A.10.09 Disciplines screen and assigned to the selected product group on the A.10.10 Product Group/Discipline screen will be assigned to the selected user security record.
