You must set up the network drives and shares that are to be used when uploading documents using the Upload button and when linking documents using the Link button on the D.10.11 Documents screen or the D.90.21 Attachments screen.

The destination paths for servers and shares in your network, the so-called file destinations, can be defined on the A.10.38 File Destinations screen.

To create a file destination, enter the destination name in the Destination Code field. Then select the destination type (Link or Upload) from the drop-down list in the Type field. The entire path of the destination must be entered in the Destination Path field.

In the case of shares, the string '%20' must be replaced by a blank. Otherwise, the shares will not be found. For example, instead of

\\share.company.com\project\Charts%20and%20Backlog\

you must enter:

\\share.company.com\project\Charts and Backlog\

The starting string "http:" must also be omitted.

Select the Sub Dir indicator to make the subdirectories of the selected destination available. This feature is only of interest for the Upload type, not for the Link type.

In the Domain User field, you specify the domain user for accessing network directories and shares. To be able to upload a document, access (read/write) rights are required for the file destination. For the operating system to know with which user / user's rights these actions are to be done, it is required that you define / assign this user here. This can be a domain user or a local user to be defined on the application server. Moreover, this user needs the rights for accessing the network directories and shares that you set up here. Otherwise, the upload will not work. As it is also required to have a password for this operating system user, you must create a user on the A.60.01.01 screen with the password that authenticates the user on the application server.

Passwords are saved in the software in uppercase. So you need to make sure that you use uppercase when creating the user on the application server. The passwords are case-sensitive, but not the user names. This (domain) user information is only needed for destinations of Upload type, not for the Link type.
