Release Notes

As of December 31, 2024, we no longer generate license keys for SmartPlant License Manager. You must upgrade to Intergraph Smart Licensing. For more information, see Intergraph Smart Licensing Installation and Setup.

Key points

  • A SmartPlant License Manager (SPLM) license machine or server is no longer needed. We maintain licensing servers in the cloud.

  • SmartPlant License Manager on the client workstations is replaced by Smart Licensing Client.

If you are configuring Intergraph Smart Licensing for SmartPlant Foundation, Smart Licensing Client must be installed on the application server and must be updated to the latest version. You might need to upgrade the application server to support a later version of Windows Server®. Before updating the license server during the migration process, we recommend performing an iisreset.

Migration workflow

At a high level, migrating from SmartPlant License Manager (SPLM) to Intergraph Smart Licensing (ISL) includes the following:

  1. Preparing for the migration

  2. Installing Smart Licensing Client on client computers

  3. Migrating licenses from SPLM to ISL

  4. Decommisioning the SPLM server
