Problem

If you use Microsoft Hyper-V Manager to access a virtual machine (VM), the Remote User name under the Obfuscation Info window is empty. This is because Microsoft Hyper-V Manager is a hypervisor, or virtual machine monitor, used to support virtual machines. A Hypervisor is very limited in what information it can pull from the system.

Solution

To overcome this issue, Hexagon recommends that you use Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), as this issue does not occur if you access virtual machines using remote desktop software running RDP.

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is a proprietary protocol developed by Microsoft, which allows you to connect to another computer over a network connection. The client must be installed with RDP client software, and the server must run RDP server software.
