  1. In the Domain Explorer, expand the Panels by Category > Marshaling Racks hierarchy and then select marshaling rack 101-MR-DCS-001.

  2. Right-click the selected marshaling rack and then on the shortcut menu, click Actions > Cross Wiring.

  3. Under Primary terminal strip, make sure that terminal strip 101-MR-DCS-001, FT-1 is selected.

  4. Under Primary auto cross-wiring side, select Right.

  5. On the Cross Wiring toolbar, click the Auto icon to find the terminals that can be cross-wired and to show the potential cross-wiring connection by a dotted line.

    SHARED Tip The software has found matching terminals 2in, 3-v, 4+v, 5in, and 6-v in terminal strip TP-1 belonging to marshaling rack 101-MR-DCS-001 and terminals 1+, 1-, and 1SH in terminal strip TP-2 belonging to the same marshaling rack.

  6. Click Cross Wire icon 16bit to cross wire the selected terminals.

    All the terminals have been cross-wired and the Primary Terminal Strip pane should appear as shown:

  7. Click X to close the Cross Wiring window.

  8. In the Domain Explorer, right-click marshaling rack 101-MR-DCS-001 and then on the shortcut menu, click Actions > Connection.

  9. In the Connection window, select one of the wires connected to terminal 3+ and click Point-to-Point icon 16bit to open the Point-to-Point Wiring Diagram.

  10. When prompted to preview the report, click Yes.

    The diagram is displayed as shown:

    As you can see, the wiring discontinuity has disappeared and the wiring continues uninterrupted from the field device to the DCS card.

  11. Print out the Point-to-Point Wiring Diagram if needed and then click to close it.

  12. Click to close the Connection window.
