This dialog enables you to set data association options when changing the instrument type and the process function of one tag, or of several tags in batch mode. To learn how to access this dialog for a single tag, see Change an Instrument Type.

Old instrument type

Displays the original instrument type of the tag number you are editing in the Tag Number Properties dialog, or the instrument type of the first tag number selected in an EDE view.

New instrument type

Displays the new instrument type after renaming.

Process data

These options deal with the process data that you want to keep or delete when changing the instrument type and the process function.

Keep general process data

Option to keep the general process data (for example, pressure, temperature, density, and so forth) and delete only specific process data (for example, range, alarm trip settings, upper level, and so forth) that the target tag or tags are associated with.

Delete process data

Option to delete all process data that the target tag or tags are associated with.

Wiring

These options deal with the wiring data of the tag number you are editing. When changing the process function in batch mode, these options are accessible only if you have selected control system tags in an EDE view.

Rename CS tag

Select to rename the control system tag associated with the renamed tag number. Selecting this check box displays the Old Control System Tag and the New control System Tag fields.

Old Control System Tag

This read-only field displays the old control system tag name associated with the tag number you are renaming (available after selecting Rename CS tag).

New Control System Tag

Accept the existing name or type a new name for the control system tag that you want to associate with the tag number you are renaming. If you have connected several CS tags to the current tag number, the system automatically assigns the same new name to all the CS tags. You must rename the new CS tags manually to make the names unique (available after selecting Rename CS tag).

Print report

Select to print out a report of all the options you have selected. The report is printed out after selecting OK.

Change all

Select to change the process function and the instrument type in batch mode (available only when selecting several tag numbers in an EDE view).
