You use this dialog to select the required panels and strips for which you want to generate a regular Panel - Multi-Strip report.

To access this dialog, from the Wiring module select Reports > Multi-Strip and then select on one of the following items:

  • With Adjacent Connections

  • Without Adjacent Connections

  • Signals

Use this dialog to find and select items or values of a specific type. The item type is displayed in the Item Type field.

Type your search criteria in the Search box to search for the items or values displayed in the grid. As you type, the grid automatically filters out those items that do not match the search criteria.

A maximum number of 100 rows is displayed per page, use the Page controls at the bottom of the grid to move between pages.

Advanced

This section contains the name of the query that your search is based on, and any options available for the specific report.

Query — Displays the name of the query in use, and allows you to change the query to another query if available.

Enhanced Report Options

Allows you to select how the objects are placed on the drawing layer of the report when it is generated by the Enhanced Report Utility.

There are two options available:

  • Placing several terminal strips on a single page.

  • Placing a single terminal strip per page.

The methods are set according to the number of rows and columns that you define per page.

Number of Rows/Columns:

Rows — Sets the number of rows per page and thus sets the number of terminal strips on a page.

Columns — Sets the number of columns per page and thus set the number of columns on a page.

Page break per panel — Start a new page for each displayed panel.  This option is available only if the number of columns or rows is bigger than one.

Scale:

Auto Scale — Automatically fits the selected terminal strips to the size of the cell that you defined by determining the number of rows and columns.

Scale Factor — Sets the scale factor for the displayed terminal strips within the page rows and columns by entering the percent of original size.  This option is available only if the number of columns or rows is bigger than one and Auto scale is not selected.

Placement flow:

Horizontal — Select this option for a horizontal flow placement on the page.

Vertical — Select this option for a vertical flow placement on the page.

Grid View

The grid displays properties and values specific to this Find query.

If you have used a search string then the grid displays only those items that match the search criteria. For example, if you search for a specific tag number (to reduce the amount of tags displayed) only that tag number is displayed.

You can also:

  • Apply individual filters to each column (click in the column header and select the criteria from the available filters).

  • Sort the values in individual columns by clicking on the column header.

  • Group the results by dragging a column header to the Group area. For example, to group the properties by Tag Class you would drag the Tag Class column header to the Group area just above the column headers.

  • Rearrange the column order by dragging and repositioning columns within the grid.

Any layout changes made to a default query, are not saved when you close the dialog box.

SHARED Tip The default sorting on the data is done in an ascending order on the following columns, in the following order:

Position in sort order

Column name

1

Panel Name

2

Rack Name

3

Slot Name

4

Wiring Equipment Name

5

Terminal Strip Name

Custom Find Queries

If you are using a custom find query for this dialog box, specific Item Types and properties must be used as part of your custom query. Failure to include these mandatory Item Types and properties results in your custom find query not being available for selection.

Item Type

Properties

Terminal Strip

  • Terminal Strip Name

  • Terminal Strip Category

  • Plant/Reference Terminal Strip

You cannot use the same Item Type more than once in your query. You can use more than one different Item Type in your query.

  • The template and title block information for multi-strips is taken from the Panel Strip preferences, File > Preferences > Enhanced Reports Panel Strip. You can overwrite the preferences by selecting your drawing in the Multi- Terminal Strip Drawings folder, and then right-click Actions > Enhanced Reports Layout to open the Enhanced Reports Layout dialog.

  • Large strips, for example a strip with 50 terminals or more, are displayed on one sheet only and not split over a number of sheets.
