This dialog enables you to do the following:

  • Create a new specification for various items. Use this option to create a single specification for an item.

  • Create a new multi-tag specification for instruments. This option is only available when the item type is Instrument.

  • Associate a tag number with an existing multi-tag specification.

Create single-item specification

Allows you to generate a specification for a specific instrument, process data case of an instrument, or generate a non-instrument spec.

Create multi-tag specification (only available for instruments, provided that you created a format for the form that you entered)

Allows you to generate a multi-tag specification with a SEE LIST.

Add tag to existing multi-tag specification (available if the form that you entered has a format already associated with a tag)

Associates the selected number with an existing multi-tag specification.

Document number

Allows you to type the appropriate document number string. The document number is required for multi-tag specifications. You can use any combination of alphanumeric characters.

Format (disabled if you selected Create single-item specification)

Allows you to select the appropriate multi- tag spec format name from the list.

Document numbers (available if you selected Add tag to existing multi-tag specification)

Displays a list of document numbers assigned to multi-tag specs that are associated with the format you selected. Select a document number to add an instrument tag to the multi-tag spec with this document number. Document numbers are sorted alphanumerically in ascending order.

Tag numbers (available only when adding a tag number to an existing multi-tag specification)

Displays a list of tag numbers that are associated with the multi-tag specification that you selected in the Document number data window. The first tag number on this list becomes by default the master tag in the new multi-tag specification.

View (available only for multi-tag specifications)

Displays an existing specification that can be selected from the Document number data window.
