Use this procedure to create a macro in the Reference Explorer.

  1. On the Reference Explorer, expand the Typical Loops and Typical Instruments hierarchies to display the loops and instruments.

  2. On the Reference Explorer, right-click the Macros folder and select New > Macro.

  3. On the Expansion Macro Properties (New) window, enter the appropriate information.

  4. Drag and drop loops and instruments from the Typical Loops and Typical Instruments folders, or from the Reference Explorer to the Macro item details grid.

    • Hold CTRL key while you select multiple loops or instruments simultaneously.

    • Dragging a loop doesn't display its constituent tags, however, they will be created with the macro.

  5. To save and create the new macro do one of the following:

    • On the New Macro Expansion toolbar, click Save Macro.

    • Click Actions > Save.

The new macro is automatically added to the Reference Explorer display.
