This is the Process Data window for an instrument. You use this window to enter or edit the process data for a selected tag number. Note that there is variability in the fields displayed, depending on the process function and fluid phase that you select.

To access this window, click Instrument icon 16bit on the module toolbar, and select an instrument tag.

Fields that are mandatory for calculations appear with either cyan or yellow background highlighting, according to the following definitions:

  • A cyan background indicates that you must enter a value on the process data sheet.

  • A yellow background indicates that you may enter a value on the process data sheet, or you can leave it blank and enter a value for that field later on the calculation sheet.

To activate the highlighting option, select Options > Highlight Process Data.

The Process Data window contains the following sections:

GENERAL

Displays the pipe and fluid properties.

PROPERTIES

Displays the process data properties.

ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES

Displays additional properties.

ALARM

Displays alarm and trip settings.

BASE CONDITIONS

Displays base condition values.

SIZING DATA

CUSTOM FIELDS

  • The Design Temperature and Design Pressure fields in the Additional Properties section of a process data sheet, are common to all cases associated with the data sheet. Any action (data entry, editing, or deletion of data) in these fields is reflected in all the cases, irrespective of which case the action was carried out on.

  • Highlighting will be disabled if N/A or other is selected in the Fluid state field.
