Normally, the Merger Utility builds a relation between the source and target naming convention segments based on the segment names. However, under certain circumstances, for example, if the target naming convention is the Flexible standard, you can use this dialog to match specific naming convention segments between the source and the target.

Target plant hierarchy

Expand the hierarchy to navigate to the required target <unit>. If a source <unit> is mapped to the <unit> you selected, the plant hierarchy of the source <unit> appears beside the target <unit> name. You can map the <units> in the Match Plant Hierarchy Items dialog.

Source naming convention

Displays the segments and data columns for the source naming convention. All the data is read-only. To map a segment, you drag the required row to the Source Segment column in the Target naming convention data window.

Target naming convention

Displays the segments and data columns for the source naming convention. All the data is read-only, except for the Source Segment column, where you type the source segment name or drag the name from the Source naming convention data window. Note that when you drag the source name, the software displays the number of the source segment in the Source Segment column instead of copying the full string. For details, see Example.

Naming convention type

Select Loop or Tag to specify the naming convention type. The software performs mapping independently for loop and tag naming conventions between the source and target <units>.

Apply

Applies mapping of the naming convention segments between the source and target <units>.

Match Segments

Matches the naming convention segments having the same names between source and target <units>.

Clear

Clears the mapping between the naming convention segments in the current source and target <units>.

Clear All

Clears the mapping between the naming convention segments in all source and target <units> in the domain. This option is useful if you changed the mapping between all the source and target <units> in the domain.
